How Did I Get Here?

8. It's 12:42 pm and I am sitting in room 150: my Writer's Craft class. I am working on my cause and effect essay.
7. I'm working on this essay in order to get a better grade to get to into a university, specifically, McMaster.
6. I chose McMaster as one of my selections because, not only is it close to home, but I feel like it is the best school for me to attend.
5. I chose to go to university because I want to become an English/history teacher.
4. I want to be an English/history teacher because I enjoy both subjects and like learning about the English language and different historical events.
3. I have good marks in English/histories and therefore, it makes learning about the subjects alot easier for me.
2. I take after my mother and most of her side of the family, as most of them are teachers/principals
1. Ever since I was a young girl, I've always wanted to be a teacher. Also, almost everyone in my family are teachers, so I have connections.

It's My Party...

...And there will be NO crying allowed. I'm hosting a birthday party for myself, even though my birthday has just passed. It doesn't matter and I can't complain since I will be the center of attention. Invite only though...

My first guest would be my mom. Why? To cook obviously. That's not to say that I'm using her to cater. Of course not. She's invited to the party afterwards.

My second guest would be none other than Johnny Depp. He's gorgeous, he's a great actor, he's gorgeous, he's easygoing and he's, well...gorgeous? Sure, we could have a deep, meaningful converstaion, but I would rather just stare at him.

My third, fourth, fifth and sixth guests would be Kristina, Minwoo, Luly and Mark. These four people helped me get through this past semester, just because I always knew they would be in class and I knew we would have a goodtime, no matter how hard the classes were. We shared PLENTY of laughs. Therefore, they are FOR SURE invited to my party.

My seventh guest would be DJ Pauly D from Jersey Shore. Ok, so he doesn't compare to Johnny Depp but please, he knows how to work his way around a beat. He will be providing the entertainment for the night.

My eighth guest would be my Nonno who passed away when I was 6. I didn't really know him to well and I would like to see him again. Although, he probably wouldn't like the music, or my friends, but he will definitely like my mom's cooking!

My ninth and tenth guests would be Mr. Powles and Mr. Harris. They're hilarious, especially when they're together. We could probably all get a few laughs out of them.

Literal - Hotel Rwanda: I remember seeing this movie when it first came out years ago and not understanding the actual concept that was trying to get across. More than a decade ago, an astrocity happened that would forever change Rwanda, however, it was these events that would somehow go unnoticed to the rest of the world. Within months, millions of people were murdered. This movie did a fantastic job in displaying the events that took place in Rwanda, as well as showing the true impact of it all.

Emotional - Simon Birch: This movie is based off of a novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. This is perhaps, one of the saddest movies I have ever seen, and even though I saw it at an early age, I still felt a deep impact by it. When you meet Simon, he is mentally, a 'grown boy', but effected by his stunted growth. You learn that he goes unnoticed in his immediate family, and spends most of his time with his friend. Towards the end of the movie, you constantly find yourself pulling for him and feel a deep sympathy for Simon, but can't help but feel proud of him.

Moral - Berensten Bears: I used to read this series when I was younger and somehow, they have always stuck with me. Even though the lessons are kind of based off of common sense and seem rather juvinelle, they always made me think twice when I found myself in one of the situations similar to the Berenstein Bears.

Symbolic - The Picture of Dorian Gray: This book was mentioned by Mr. Powles last semester in our literature class, and when I looked into it more, I discovered that there are alot of symbols within the novel. It is a classic in describing the differences between good and evil and vanity.

Hyperobolic - Life of Pi: I hated this book. One of the reasons could have been because it was so over exaggerated, I often found myself getting lost and confused. The fantasy novel is about a boy who finds himself stranded on a boat with three animal "friends". The author gives us different stories, but it's hard to tell which one is the "real" version.
